Welcome to Mabel & Stitch!

I’m Maxine, and I’m so happy you’re here. My journey into handmade gifting began with Mabel Mouse, a soft toy I lovingly created for my teenage daughter. What started as a personal gift soon blossomed into a collection of cozy, meaningful creations that I’m now proud to share with you.

My love of sewing goes way back to the 1980s, when my mother taught me how to make Ra Ra skirts — the height of fashion at the time! That early joy of working with fabric and thread never left me. Over the past 30 years, I’ve built a career as a psychotherapist and relationship coach, helping people nurture love, connection, and meaning in their lives. Now, I’ve returned to my first creative passion: crafting beautiful, thoughtful gifts that carry the same spirit of care and connection.

At Mabel & Stitch, every piece is handmade with love using natural linens, 100% cotton, and soft textiles (some recycled) that feel good in your hands and soothing to the soul. From whimsical toys to timeless keepsakes, my creations are designed to bring warmth, comfort, and a little touch of Hygge into everyday life.
